The company
We build lamps out of tubes and light.
Loomiosa is an interior lighting manufacturer in Szentendre, Hungary. Every pendant we make is built the same way: coloured, anodised aluminium tubes held in a 3D printed bracket that sets their sequence and gives the lamp its shape. It is a construction that produces striking forms at a surprisingly low weight, and it is why our lamps look different from every angle.
The designer
Daniel Mato
Every Loomiosa product is designed by Daniel Mato, who founded the company. An early love of shapes led him to a degree in engineering, where he learned a range of techniques and the behaviour of different materials. That knowledge shows in how the tubes are held and balanced.
His lifelong passion for travelling shaped his interest in natural beauty, contemporary architecture and sculpture. The Leaf came from palm trees in Asia; the Space from asteroid orbits; the Galaxy from the night sky. Each design starts somewhere he has been.
How they are made
Two materials, one method →
- Aluminium
- The outer shade is built from anodised and painted high-quality aluminium tubes. They give a glossy, durable surface while keeping the structure light.
- Polyamide
- The bracket holding the tubes is 3D printed in polyamide, using Multijet Fusion (MJF) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). This is the part that defines each lamp's geometry. The ceiling cover is 3D printed in polyamide as well.
Parts of every lamp are made by hand, so colours, shapes and finishes may vary slightly between pieces. We work to keep those differences small.
